Lecture description
An intact forest road network forms the backbone of efficient and sustainable forestry. Maintaining this network is associated with considerable effort and costs, which increase the poorer the overall condition of the forest roads. It is therefore essential to assess the condition of forest roads as up-to-date as possible in order to initiate maintenance measures at an early stage. The presentation will introduce the results of the Intelliway research project. These include an app developed as part of the project for recording road conditions, a second app developed for the management and digitalization of road condition data, and the so-called “Wegemesslanze” for automated data collection. The presentation will also highlight further development needs.
