Lecture description

Active forest conversion leads – in the medium to long term – to a different tree species composition, characterized by mixed stands and a high proportion of broadleaved trees. How do we manage these broadleaved species when it comes to tending, thinning, and harvesting? How do we utilize the resulting timber? Is there sufficient demand for the raw wood and the products made from it? And what tasks might still lie ahead? This discussion, featuring representatives from the forestry and timber sectors, academia, and the field, addresses these questions and encourages engagement with the topic of "broadleaved timber utilization."
