Lecture description
Timber construction is a key technology for sustainable, serial, and resource-efficient building. Innovations, digital planning, and prefabrication enable faster and more cost-effective construction. At the same time, standards, approval procedures, and regulatory requirements are increasing. The discussion highlights the tension between safety and quality standards and the need for greater freedom to innovate, planning certainty, and fair competition. How much regulation does timber construction need – and where does it hinder innovation and investment?
