Preparations for the next trade show are under way

New Advisory Board for INTERFORST

The 13th International Trade Show for Forestry and Forest Technology will take place on the exhibition grounds of Messe München in July 2018. This date seems quite remote at the present time. Behind the scenes, however, preparations for the next INTERFORST have already commenced. The Advisory Board has reformed and met for its first meeting at Messe München on 7 May 2015.

Ralf Dreeke (Managing Director Wahlers Forsttechnik GmbH) will continue holding office as Chairman of the Advisory Board. Gert Unterreiner, Managing Director of Unterreiner Forstgeräte GmbH, has been appointed Deputy Chairman of the Advisory Board.

“As an exhibitor lobbyist, major industry representative and partner, the Advisory Board has always played a vital role in the development of INTERFORST to become the international key trade show for forestry and forest technology”, states Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, Deputy Managing Director of Messe München. “Ralf Dreeke and Gert Unterreiner are acknowledged specialists of the trade show and excellent industry professionals. We are looking forward to cooperating with them.“

The new Advisory Board counts 17 members. The Board’s composition reflects the exhibitor groups of INTERFORST and related events. It represents the entire logistics chain—ranging from reforestation over timber harvesting up to sawmills and wood energy.

“As former and new Chairman of the INTERFORST Advisory Board, I believe that a representative composition of this body is essential”, states Ralf Dreeke, “the first meeting of the Advisory Board has shown that its mix is balanced.”

And this is how Ralf Dreeke describes what the trade show means to him personally: “INTERFORST is undoubtedly among the major trade shows for forestry machinery in Europe and is therefore a must not to be missed. Our company is one of the leading suppliers of harvesters and forwarders in Germany. A large proportion of our potential customers regularly attend INTERFORST which is a highly effective event for us, both in terms of customer acquisition and existing customer care.”

Vice Chairman Gert Unterreiner has a similar perspective: “With its great number of national and international exhibitors, INTERFORST is the most significant forestry trade show in Europe for Unterreiner Forstgeräte GmbH. As a Bavarian, I naturally appreciate the benefits of Munich as a location. I look forward to supporting and advising INTERFORST within the framework of the Advisory Board.“

Looking back on INTERFORST 2014, all members of the Advisory Board expressed their exceptional satisfaction with the outcome of the trade show. In particular, they highlighted the increase in the number of exhibitors and exhibition space compared with the preceding event as well as the growing international mix of the exhibitors and visitors.

“We would like to shape the concept of INTERFORST 2018 to better accommodate the demand of our exhibitors and visitors”, states the Exhibition Director, Martina Ehrnsperger: “I am sure that a continuous and intensive exchange with the members of the Advisory Board and “active listening” will provide valuable input in this respect.”

Since January 2015, there have also been personnel changes in the Exhibition Team. Business Unit IV, which is responsible for INTERFORST, is now managed by Georg Moller. He succeeds Monika Dech who has been promoted to the Board of Management of Messe München.
